Here's a quick and easy stretch for you desk jockeys and availability for the week of April 23, 2017

Happy weekend everyone!

I'm not sure about you, but I surely am grateful for the rain.  My newly planted seeds need it and even more, our grounds need it to keep these fires in Southwest Florida at bay.

As promised, today I'm sharing with you a quick and easy stretch you can do with a chair, if you're spending lots of time in a seated position. This means those of you "desk jockeys", those of you operating motor vehicles for a lot of your day and those of you traveling a lot.  Pretty much everyone, right?

Here's a great stretch for those tight and shortened hip flexors.  You may have tight hip flexors if you have low back pain and/or hip pain.  Believe it or not, you may have neck pain due to your hip flexors being shortened. Imagine your upper body and your head being pulled forward when you're sitting at a chair because your hip flexors are being shortened.  It can definitely be partially responsible for that neck pain you're experiencing.  So, with that being said, check out my short video and begin doing this stretch regularly to start seeing some relief of your pain symptoms.

That wasn't too bad was it?  I want to hear from you.  Have you tried this hip flexor stretch? Are you adding it to you stretching routine?

6 health benefits from eating cherries

Reach for cherries when you are craving a snack! Not only are they healthy and pack a mere 77 calories for a whole cup portion, but they are mega good for you, too!

Here's why you should add cherries to your grocery list all season long.

They help to reduce inflammation: A study published in the Journal of Nutrition found that eating cherries reduces several bio-markers consistent with chronic inflammatory diseases. Specifically, cherry juice can alleviate joint inflammation for people who suffer from arthritis and other inflammatory conditions, according to a University of Vermont study.

They help prevent muscle damage: Cherries reduce muscle soreness after a workout, and they can prevent greater muscle damage in the long run. Cherries are chock full of Anthocyanins which are powerful antioxidants that contain anti-inflammatory properties that reduce muscle ache.

They fight cardiovascular disease: The potent anthocyanins, which give cherries their ruby color, can also have a positi…
