How to get the most out of your massage session and this week's availability

One of the things I like to do with my clients at the conclusion of their massage session is provide them with some suggestions of what they can do in between their appointments so that they can continue to feel good and perhaps maintain longer periods of wellness in between sessions.

These suggestions might include:

  • Arranging their work station to make it more ergonomically correct whenever possible.
  • Setting a reminder to stand up and stretch for one minute every working hour at a computer.
  • Maintaining hydration with drinking half their body weight in ounces of water, and more if they drink caffeinated drinks or alcohol.
  • Focusing on their posture, by making sure their navel is tucked in, shoulders are down and relaxed and head is back.
  • Starting and ending their day with a gentle stretching routine.
I know it's no easy task to remember these tips but I promise you that when you incorporate them, you will notice changes in how your body looks and feels.

In these next few posts, I'll be sharing some easy to do stretches you can do at home or at your work station.

Lastly, here's this week's availability:

6 health benefits from eating cherries

Reach for cherries when you are craving a snack! Not only are they healthy and pack a mere 77 calories for a whole cup portion, but they are mega good for you, too!

Here's why you should add cherries to your grocery list all season long.

They help to reduce inflammation: A study published in the Journal of Nutrition found that eating cherries reduces several bio-markers consistent with chronic inflammatory diseases. Specifically, cherry juice can alleviate joint inflammation for people who suffer from arthritis and other inflammatory conditions, according to a University of Vermont study.

They help prevent muscle damage: Cherries reduce muscle soreness after a workout, and they can prevent greater muscle damage in the long run. Cherries are chock full of Anthocyanins which are powerful antioxidants that contain anti-inflammatory properties that reduce muscle ache.

They fight cardiovascular disease: The potent anthocyanins, which give cherries their ruby color, can also have a positi…
